What is Cutting Board Designer?
Cutting Board Designer is a free web app from The Kingsbury Workshop for planning cutting boards. Use it to plan a board you'd like me to build, or one you're building yourself in your own shop.
What you can do with it
Choose a design mode (Strip Pattern or Grid / Tile Pattern) and a board style (Face Grain, Edge Grain, or End Grain).
Set the board size and build the layout from 28 wood species.
Preview the board in 2D or 3D, with an oil finish view.
See a board summary, a materials list, and a cost estimate.
Follow the glue-up steps, export a plan PDF, or open Workshop Mode on your phone at the bench.
Save your designs, share a design link, or send a design with a custom order request.
Do I need an account?
No. You can design, save designs on your device, export them, and share a link without an account. A free account adds saving designs to your account, so you can open them wherever you sign in. See Create an account and save designs to it.
What you need
Cutting Board Designer runs in your web browser on a computer, tablet, or phone. You need an internet connection to open it.
About the estimates
Board sizes, cut lists, material estimates, and costs are planning aids. Check measurements and quantities yourself before you buy materials or cut, and follow safe practices with your tools.
